Financial institution connection update and zzz meaning.

Hello,

Have Quicken Windows

When I go to update, I get a message that my financial institution connection needs an update.

It seems the last time this happened, I clicked to update and I lost the whole file. It was asking all kinds of verifications and I lost it all.

Another thing just before this started, when I do the One Step Update, when the window opens, there are 3 zzz's before the name ( zzz-Fidelity), what does that mean?

If I back up, can I be sure I won't lose everything again?

It means that you're currently using Direct Connect to download from Fidelity, and they're transitioning to Express Web Connect+.

BUT, don't make the change yet, I haven't. If you read this forum that have been multiple difficulties with the conversion, on both Fido's and Q's part, so I'm not switching until forced to.

Thank you, I really appreciate the answer…and warning. I was actually surprised that it isn't forcing me to update. I think last time it did and I lost everything.

Is Express Web Connect+ Fidelity or Quicken? Or both?

It's a method of connecting between Q and multiple financial institutions. It's Fidelity decision to switch from Direct Connect to EWC+
