Missing All Fidelity Government Cash Reserve Transactions
After updating the connection to Fidelity all Fidelity Government Cash Reserve (FDRXX) transactions disappeared from my account and now the amount in Quicken doesn't match the real amount in my Fidelity account. I tried to add a Fidelity Government Cash Reserve transaction with the amount missing but it also doesn't show in Quicken. I reported the problem, but I still don't have the Fidelity Government Cash Reserve transactions. Any ideas on how to get these transactions to show up again?

Hello @car1,
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I am curious if your Fidelity Government Cash Reserve (FDRXX) is part of a Money Market fund.
If so, it is now a Known Issue. To be notified of updates as they become available for this, please click the bookmark ribbon located in the upper right. If you do not see the bookmark ribbon, make sure you are signed into the Quicken Community.
If this does not match the problem you are having, let me know.
Thank you.

Hi Alyssa,
I'm seeing some progress. Some of the Money Market funds are coming through. I am seeing the "Cash" placeholders with zero balance which is just a small nuisance. One MM fund however is not coming through (SPAXX). The funds for this are showing up as cash.
Thanks

Hello @dborja,
Thank you for following up!
I think this Known Issue covers what you are seeing.
"Quicken Mac users:
- The Money Market security will disappear automatically and be set to cash. Customers whose cash balance is incorrect should perform a reconciliation with the online balance and enter an adjustment to correct the cash balance. From that point on, you will be good to go."
Let me know!

@Quicken Alyssa All of mine were already cash: FDRXX, SPAXX etc. It is disconcerting because it is now downloading 0.00 for my Cash balance which is wrong. I have turned off auto-reconcile, but I don't quite understand.
If I add the adjustment, it just subtracts the difference with leaves me with 0.

Hi @Quicken Alyssa ,
My Fidelity Government Cash Reserve (FDRXX) transactions are back. Not sure if this is the same issue mentioned on the link, as the transactions are displayed as FDRXX shares and not cash.
Either way the issue has been resolved.
Thanks.

Hello,
Thank you both for following up on this discussion.
We do have an ongoing Known Issue with $0 balances for Fidelity. Does this match what you are experiencing?
Thank you for reporting that the issue is resolved!

Yes, that's the issue. Thank you for the information. It's funny because this happened once in August but was right again at the next update. This time it has now persisted. @Quicken Alyssa

It appears SPAXX and FDRXX are being treated differently in Quicken Mac. I have multiple Fidelity accounts using SPAXX as the core position and all are showing a cash balance equal to that position (as is my preference). With one account I have FDRXX as the core position and in the last few days, new dividends received in that account are showing as newly obtained positions in FDRXX/Fidelity Government Cash Reserves as a separate security (but my pre-existing holdings in FDRXX as still being shown as Cash). Fidelity shows all FDRXX holdings as cash.
EDIT: This appears to only occur in Quicken Mac. I run Quicken Win concurrently and downloaded the transactions and it reflects all of the FDRXX holdings as the account cash balance.

For Mac users at least different account types have different cash balance behaviors for Fidelity downloads. Cash Management accounts all show $0 dollar cash balance which doesn't make sense. IRA's and Roth's also show $0 cash positions while standard brokerage accounts show partial cash balances depending on what the cash is invested in. Also whenever dividend income additions occur (for me that is every day) they ALWAYS require tedious manual entries for cash transfers to some cash security type when the activity is downloaded to Quicken to enable the accounts to balance out.
Hopefully there will be an update for Quicken MAC (very soon!!) to provide an option for cash balances at Fidelity to be downloaded and balanced as straight cash not a MM fund, FDRXX or other cash security type in order to eliminate the daily manual entries needed.

I finally just "bought" the missing shares of SPAXX and FDRXX, so my balance is cash balance now is $0.00 but the overall value is right. I just reinvested my SEP 30 dividend.
Now Fidelity Investments seem to be Quicken Classic Mac seems to be working as it does in Quicken Simplifi.

@Quicken Alyssa I reviewed the bookmarked issue, which says (for Quicken users) that I "…may need to change the Money Market representation if they are not prompted. You can do this by clicking the Cash link in the account or in the Account Details>Online Services Tab, the “Reset Money market securities/cash options…"
But I don't have this option, despite being on EWC+. I have something that says "Show Cash in a checking account." Is that what will resolve my FDRXX holdings being shown as cash, and my share balance not being resolved (shares in quicken = 0, shares reported > 0)?Quicken Classic Premier (Windows) R64.23 Build 27.1.64.23

@Quicken Alyssa I'm never sure that the in-program "Report a problem" is doing anything. Is it correct that we never receive any confirmation that you have received what we've sent?

Hello @EmKay,
Thank you for your question.
You are correct, normally when you send your log files over, you do not get a response to that submission. However, in this case, if you submit them, I will be able to confirm that for you and add them to the ticket.
Thank you!

@Quicken Alyssa - I'm sending logs now. Mentioned your handle.
FYI - I remain on a not-current version of Quicken/windows because I always hang back on updates, a bit…

Hello @EmKay,
We received a response to the issue you are having with not being able to reset cash options. Kindly adhere to the steps outlined below, which should rectify the problem.
It is imperative that you back up your file before executing these steps to safeguard your current data. Additionally, I would like to inform you that we are actively working on an official fix for this in R65.
Steps To Follow
- Backup
- Save a backup of your Quicken file.
2. Adjust Preferences
- Edit → Preferences → Downloaded transactions
- Check “Never interpret downloaded money market funds as cash.”
- Click OK
3. Force Transactions
- Run One Step Update (OSU) on affected accounts.
- Accept downloaded transactions.
- Review the prompt and make edits as needed
4. Restore Preferences
- Edit → Preferences → Downloaded transactions
- Uncheck “Never interpret downloaded money market funds as cash.”
- Click OK
Upon completion of these procedures, you should be capable of resetting your cash representation for the affected accounts/funds.
Hope this helps!
