When I update my Fidelity accounts, all my accounts' Online Balance is $0.00. Why?
When I update my accounts with Fidelity Investments, I've seen a new issue: the Online Balance is $0.00, which is incorrect. This just started on or about Sept. 23, 2025. I've never had this issue before. I'm using my iMac which is running Tahoe ver 26.0.1, which I installed Sept 29. I had been running Sequoia which is when the problem first started. After updating on the 29th, the problem did not go away. I'm using Quicken Classic Deluxe ver 8.3.2, also very recently installed. The problem did not go away with that update either. Fidelity online data is correct, i.e., it has accurate cash balances for all my six accounts, but those correct amounts are no longer showing when reconciling the account in the "Use Online Balance" field of the reconciliation. Things I've tried: I've confirmed that I'm using "Quicken Connect" on all my accounts. I have also confirmed that I'm using "Detailed" (not "Simple") Investment Tracking Method on all my accounts. I have disconnected all my accounts, and reconnected them. Although this did not fix the issue, I noticed something interesting: During the reconnecting step where all the accounts are listed to confirm what to match each with, there is a field on that screen next to each account with the online balance. Those fields were indeed populated with the correct dollar balance in each account. However, that balance did not carry over to when I did reconciles. By the way, the specific transactions (buying, selling, dividends) are being sent to my Quicken account correctly…but not much use if I can't use the online balance with a $0.00 in every account's field.
These were most of the steps suggested by Grok AI. Please let me know how to fix this asap. I'm falling behind fast in managing my $$ because of this issue.
Thank you,

Hello @mverzola,
Thank you for sharing your experience and providing those details. I am happy to help.
We do currently have a Known Issue for $0.00 balances with Fidelity. It sounds like this is what you are seeing. Is that correct?
If so, you can bookmark the alert by clicking the ribbon icon in the top right of the thread to stay updated on any progress.
Hope this helps!

Quicken Alyssa:
Yes, that sounds like my problem, except I think I read that thread, and it was all about Quicken for Windows. I have a Mac, so most of its suggestions were in Windows terminology. Also, it is dated 8/29, almost a month before my issues started. But, I'll keep an eye on that thread.
Thanks

Hello @mverzola,
Thanks for following up.
This is an issue that is affecting both Quicken Windows and Quicken Mac, and although it predates your first experience of it, it would still apply.
I hope the issue is resolved soon!

Same issue with the $0.00 online balance & also the inability to reconcile my accounts.

There is also another bug here. if i out in the manual balance, I can click on an item and then the transaction shows as being uncleared at the top of the reconciliation screen, but no matter what transaction, it shows $0.00 in the amount. Additionally, the Quicken Balance at the very top does not change.

I discovered another issue with Fidelity, which may or may not be related to the original issue of $0.00 Online balance. In Quicken, I have noticed that on my sidebar of accounts, most of my accounts show more worth than what Fidelity is showing. After many hours of investigating (something I'm not very happy about when I'm PAYING you, Quicken, to make my life easier not harder), I discovered that the Cash in Quicken is counting the cash that is in FDRXX twice: once as if it were another security, and again as if it were just cash.
I'm a Mac guy, so some of this may not make sense to you Windows folks. When I click on one of my accounts on the left sidebar, like "Managed IRA", and then look at my Transactions view, things seem to look fine. But, when I open the Portfolio View, and look at the list of securities at the bottom half of the screen, the total market value of that account is higher than what is in the Fidelity account online. Just above the Grand Totals at the bottom of that list is a line called "Cash". It is exactly the same amount as the FDRXX security that is in the securities' list above, and that is exactly how much the Quicken total is larger than the Fidelity total for that Managed IRA account. When I do that same math for my other Fidelity accounts, the results are the same and the total difference between Quicken and Fidelity.
Quicken is counting cash twice, once as the FDRXX security, and once in a total cash. Seems to me you should be able to fix that in a couple hours, not a couple months. One more piece of info that might help: a couple of my older accounts that still have some money in them, but not many transactions, do not have this issue. But, they use SPAXX for the account they park the cash in, not FDRXX.
Respectfully…..this should be fixed sooner than later. I'm paying for your service to help me manage my finances, not to cause me more time, effort, and frustration. You are asking me to pay for a service that is causing me work, not saving me work. That's not a good recipe to keep customers….0 -
Hello @mverzola,
Thank you for following up with those additional details.
I have created a ticket for the issue you are having with FDRXX.
If you don't mind, can you please go to Help>Report a problem>Send to Quicken in your Quicken software, and send your logs over so I can add them to the ticket?
Let me know once you have completed that, so I can get those added.
Thank you!

Hello Alyssa,
Any updates or hopefully corrections to this issue? I now have all my Fidelity accounts that are not in balance. I tried a test to set up one of the accounts, but transactions prior to 5/30/25 did not download.

Hello @Wyodad,
Thank you for adding to this discussion with your question.
When connecting accounts, I believe Fidelity sends over 90 days of transactions. So not receiving new transactions that are older than that would make sense.
As for the issue of $0 balance, that ticket is still open and active. Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA as to when it will be resolved. Make sure to bookmark the Community Alert to receive updates when they become available.
Thank you!
