UPDATE 10/1/2025: Merrill Lynch duplicate CDs

Well - after the "forced" conversion to EWC+ the CD issue is not fixed. All of my CDs (in two accounts) were duplicated

Screenshot 2025-10-01 at 5.49.02 AM.png

This is a sample - CD BANK OF AMERICA, CD BANK OF AMERICA 2, CD JP MORGAN CHASE BK NA are ALL duplicates. The CD GOLDMAN SACHS BK USA is a new CD that is a "pending" transaction (has not settled). All these transactions were imported with the date that matched the date of the earliest original transaction (7/28/2014). There was no other information (no symbol, maturity date = today (import date), call date = today (import date), etc.)

This cutover is just ridiculous - there are multiple reports of problems and nothing seems to be addressed.

    Hello @rakeshg,

Thanks for posting your questions and concerns, and I am happy to help.

A good place to start is by reviewing the transactions in the affected account(s). If the Transactions tab is greyed out, try holding down the Option key and then clicking it — that will make the transactions visible again.

From there, look for things like:

Duplicate transactions would have to be deleted manually, and duplicate securities can be merged. If duplicate transactions continue happening, it could be something we need to take a closer look at.

    Hope this helps!

Unfortunately it doesn't help. I had fixed the transactions yesterday (deleted them) and they came back in the download today. Merging just doubles the amount (it takes the 2 amounts and adds them). I had been working with one of the software development managers at Quicken and he said that he found the issue why the CDs were duplicated (this was before the forced update) but the problem has not been fixed.

In addition, the fees came in without any detail. With direct connect, the fees would be classified as "Payment/Deposit" and description would be something like "Advisory Program Fee Inv. Advisory Fee Sep".

    Hello @rakeshg,

Thank you for following up with the additional information.

I looked and was able to find your open ticket with the development team. The last update on it says that the issue has been reported to Merrill Lynch, and the ticket is marked as "In Progress".

From here, the best course of action is to wait to hear back from them with the next steps or resolution. I hope this update helps for the time being.

    Thank you!

@Quicken Alyssa - thanks for the update. I feel a bit like a spectator at a tennis match watching the ball go back and forth! 😉

    Hello @rakeshg,

Yes, I can see how it would feel that way. Great comparison.

Rest assured, this match continues on your behalf.

It actually looks like there has been significant progress since we last spoke. I don't want to speak too soon, but the latest update indicates a good chance of a fix very soon.

    Stay tuned!
