Roth Contributions Report

It seems like this should be straightforward, but how do you generate a report of Roth Contributions? I've tried the Tax Schedule, but nothing shows up which is sort of as expected since transfers in to a Roth are not categorized to a Tax Schedule (at least that's how I understand they are supposed to be set up).

I've tried the Tax Summary but some of the transfers in are shown but not all and they are mixed up with other Transfers (like account fees).

One would think you could do an Investment Transaction report and filter on "ContribX" and also maybe "XIn", but then some of the lines show up with blank fields as was mentioned in the thread below. I assume that bug has not yet been addressed by the developers. Interestingly, if you do that report and subtotal by year the totals actually do show up, and this is the workaround I'm using at present. My searching here hasn't come up with a direct solution.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm using Q for Windows Subscription version.

One way to see contributions to a Roth account would be to use the Investing Activity report. Select the date range you want and just the account(s) to include. This will show all money moving into the account(s) on the Deposits line.

Alternatively, you can use the Investment Performance report and select the date range and accounts to include. Subtotal by Account and click on Show detail. Look in the Investments column to see additions to the account.

Does either of these work for you?

Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't notified of a response.

Jim, good suggestions. Both work, although a little clunky. The Investing Activity report seems to want to summarize by quarter and I can't seem to change it, but it does sum up the contributions. The Investment Performance report detail shows the contributions although doesn't total them. Add my subtotaling approach to Investment Transaction report and there are three ways to get it done. Thanks.
