Ability to sort credits and debits independently during reconciliation

If I select to sort by amount ascending for payments, why do the deposits have to sort in decending order? The two windows should be independent of each other.

I'd never noticed that before, nor had a need for such.

In the meanwhile, I'd suggest that during a reconciliation you mark off either side, debits or credits, first (aren't they shown separately on your bank statement) and then click the other side to sort it.

What's curious about this is that ONLY a sort on the amount column "reverses". For the other columns, sorting on a column is reflected in both sides.

Originally the bank statements were separate debits and credits, bank merged with another bank, now in one long date sorted column. I'll try doing each side separate next time, picking out the debits and credits from the paper copy.
