Online account setup defaults to offline checking account

I'm trying to set up online access for an account at PeoplesBank, Holyoke, MA. The bank appears in Quicken's "Search for your financial institution" list, and when I select it I'm taken to the next screen asking for consent to access my data. Clicking on that takes me to the next screen, which defaults to "Checking— add your offline account," with no other options offered.

I've tried setting up the account manually, and setting up online access from the account's "Online Services" tab, but it takes me back to the same offline account panel.

FWIW, this is a money market account that was previously closed in Quicken and that I'm using again. I'm using a different nickname for it, since Quicken doesn't allow the same name to be used again.

    Hello @Fred Dobbs,

Thank you for sharing your experience and providing those details.

After reviewing your account internally, it appears you got an FDP-503 error when trying to connect to PeoplesBank MA - Business Banking in Quicken. This 503 error indicates invalid credentials are being used. You could have gotten this error just by trying an instance in Quicken with which your credentials don't work.

I tried the PeoplesBank - Holyoke MA instance and got the same thing you are describing.

I took a look at the financial institution list and see that that instance only offers the Web Connect connection method. This requires you to download a file from your bank and import it into Quicken.

I do see PeoplesBank - CM (right above the Holyoke one in the screenshot) uses the same URL and supports another connection method, Express Web Connect. Might be worth trying that instance, just to see if you can get connected.

More information on different connection methods can be found in this Support Article if needed.

    Thank you!
