Why isn't the service included in the yearly subscription?

    Because they can make money by making it a separate product, besides, not everyone would want to use it and wouldn't want the added cost for no benefit.

    IMO, the extra features like credit score, zillow, etc are in the same boat, why should a user pay for them if they don't want to use them. You can get your credit score for free from most credit card companies and how often does the value of your home change and can you really rely on zillow for a truly accurate price.

    Quicken could extend their current a-la-carte edition pricing to include those features that are marginal to tracking your day-to-day finances.

    Just my 2 cents.

    [added] Just noticed this is in a Mac category, so the extra Windows version features may not be in it, but the concept is the same.
