Redesign the New Category and the Edit Category windows

The New Category window is showing its extreme age. It cannot be resized. The tiny "Subcategory of" dropdown list is almost unusable. Indenting is insufficient and the limited size of the dropdown list interferes with navigation and search. The text boxes are not wide enough to show multiple category levels. Tax reporting should be on the same line all other essential fields in the same order as the "Category List" window. The iron-age tax form reference should be replaced with a more user-friendly form list and a tax form lookup.

Some thought is also needed to add the ability to quickly and efficiently reorganize categories and category structure. The "Category Edit" window shares many of the "New Category" window faults.

Suggest consolidating the separate windows into a pane at the top or just above the data in the "Category List" window. Excel does this, making it possible to edit a cell by modifying the data in a text box at the top of the window. Please to not place an edit field at the bottom of the window where it might be inadvertently accessed.

Also, think about adding a column/setting to the Category Window to deprecate categories that should no longer be used or displayed.

There are already ways to control which Categories are displayed.

When viewing the Category List, at the top you can select the full list, used only, unused only, or tax related only.

You can also hide Categories that you don't use, which by default keeps them off the dropdown list.

This one of many clunky interfaces within Quicken. For example, choosing report categories and subcategories remains a time warp to the 1990s. Try searching for a category with text. Ha! Type "sub" and you'll find Business Subscriptions but you'll have to scroll to find any personal subscriptions. (I've had a love-hate relationship with quicken nigh unto 30 years.)
