Connecting to Service Credit Union after 21 October 2025

Has anyone been able to reconnect and download transactions from SCU since Service Credit Union (servicecu.org) updated its online banking platform?

The FAQ on their website recommends using Quicken Web Connect. I'm not sure in which decade they are living, but I don't think I've seen Web Connect used in quite a while. A search for SCU doesn't directly yield any results, but you can trick it with servicecu.org and find a reference.

    Hello @David Stempnakowski,

Thank you for reaching out with this question.

After checking internally, it appears that Service Credit Union, servicecu.org, is unfortunately no longer a supported financial institution in Quicken.

In order for the financial institution to support downloads to Quicken and to be added back to our bank list, the request to be added would need to be made and submitted by the financial institution to our service providers. If you want Quicken to be supported, you will need to contact your financial institution directly and tell them you'd like to download your accounts into Quicken.

    Thank you.

    From their website:

"Beginning October 21, 2025, Quicken and Quickbooks will be temporarily unavailable in online banking for up to five business days. During this time, data will not be automatically added to the system. Once the connection has been restored, you will be able to resume all normal activity in Quicken and Quickbooks."

Today, October 28th, is technically the fifth business day so hopefully, Service Credit Union will re-establish the connection within the next day or two 🤞

  • I was able to reestablish my quicken updates to The Service Credit Union. I noticed in Quicken that the CU had somehow prefixed the Service CU name with ZZZ-. I corrected the institution name to minus the ZZZ- , and it all updated correctly. I never got back a response from Service credit Union. I hope this will still help out other folks.

Thanks, and I also got the answer from SCU directly that this service is, for the moment, not active.

It appears to be working now.

Here is the unedited response I received from SCU:

    Hello,

We do offer quickens on personal accounts as well, and it will be available on 10/26.

    Thank you!

I was able to update my accounts this morning. I was able to link to all existing accounts except for two joint accounts that I had to recreate from scratch.

  • I chatted Service the other night, they blamed Quicken and said to contact them. I asked for them to push it to someone in tech support with a clue and pointed toward their tutorial. Nothing worked.

Thank you to David Stempnakowski and Philip Maxwell for posting the workaraounds: using the website and removing the ZZZ fixed all but one of my accounts.

@Soon2BeanExQUser I'm not sure that Quicken deserves the blame. Having been a software developer, the update and rollout of Service CU's new site was a little odd. I could start by pointing out that for most of the first day the new site was live, it lacked a 'Login" button to access online banking. The help link when you searched for Quicken took you to their business banking page. The tech support I dealt with kept incorrectly calling Quicken 'quickens.' They also moved to a 3rd party, Plaid, to handle their connection. I also use iFinance since we also have foreign accounts, and iFinance uses Plaid for their download transaction feature. I have not been impressed with that service at all. I cancelled the subscription, and for banks that don't have a direct connect, I type by hand.

To date, I have yet to find another alternative to Quicken that has anything close to the feature set. If Quicken expanded the ability to download transactions for banks beyond USA and Canada, it would be the 100% perfect solution for me. As it stands, it is about 97% and I can live with that.
