set quicken scheduled transactions to be deducted immediately

When I get my retirement annuity at the beginning of the month I want to enter my future upcoming bills into the checking account register for cash flow planning. I can do this but the account balance won't deduct that bill until the future date is reached. I want the balance to deduct the bill IMMEDIATELY and not have to wait days/weeks before it's reflected on the register. As I recall, Quicken USED to do this, however it was something I didn't pay much attention to until I observed it recently and found Quicken's NOT deducting them to be a royal pain.

I do NOT want to have to go to "future bills," or "anticipated balance," or other such screen. I want ALL accounts and all transactions, past and future, to be reflected on ONE screen.

Click on the gear at the top right of each account and select "Reminders to show in Register." You can choose how far in the future you want the Reminders to be shown.

This will display the reminders in your register and affect the future balance even though you have not accepted them yet.

Assuming this is a bank account you're talking about, look at the bottom of the account register there will be (3) three balances noted: Online Balance, Current Balance & Ending Balance.

I do zero-based budgeting (using Excel because it's more flexible). Anyhow, as you described, I pre-enter all of my known transactions for the month and use the Current Balance & Ending Balance figures noted to make sure my cashflow is on track. The Current Balance will be the balance for everything in the register up until today's date, while the Ending Balance will be the balance on the date of the last entry in the register.

(PS - I don't do the "Reminders to show in register" thing as @Jim_Harman described, because it just makes more sense to me to sit down once a month and actually use the Bill & Income Reminders list to enter the transactions into the register.)

    - Quicken user since 1992 (back in the good old DOS Version days)

    - I don't use Cloud Sync, Mobile & Web, Bill Pay/Mgr, Budgeting, Tax Planner

Is there any way to make the ENDING balance show up in the accounts sidebar?

Yes, click on the gear at the top right of the Account Bar and at the bottom of the list select "Show ending balance in Account Bar."

THANK YOU!! I didn't change this setting so presume it was a result from some update or other setting back to a default setting "to enhance your Quicken experience."

I REALLY wish Quicken, and a host of other sites, would quit doing that sort of thing. I get an application or a web site working the way I like it and THEY change things thinking it an improvement.
