For anyone using or recommending using old Quicken version patches from my website

It seems that these patches (Quicken 2014 and below) can no longer be used on current versions of Windows 11.
They will claim that there isn't enough space on the C: drive. This is most likely because the install program is using a 32-bit variable which can only store a number up to 4 billion, and then it wraps around. Depending on how many times it wraps around for the free space on your machine and the number it ends up with it might think you have less than 100 megabytes on your C: drive and not finish the install.

It is possible to get lucky and the wrapped number that it comes up with will be greater than 100 megabytes, but this can't be counted on.

Just wondering … would running the installation program in Compatibility Mode for Windows 8 (or older) help?

Good suggestion. The problem is fundamental to the fact that the installer checks for how much disk space you have (which it probably shouldn't) and the returned value is bigging that will fit in the variable that it is using to store that amount. I'm not really sure if this Windows version dependent. It is interesting that it has been working for so long. Or maybe it just has to do with how Windows 11 is now providing that information. I don't know, but I did try it in compatibility mode, and it didn't make any difference

If the old version's original installation CD (or downloaded file) also fails with the same symptom … has someone tested that? …

then we may have to assume that the time has come where we can no longer install old Quicken for Windows versions on Windows 11 systems. Right?
And let's not even mention Windows ARM systems. I heard you need an x86 emulator to be able to run old 32bit software.

Good question, but one that I can't really answer. A while back I lost all my old install file for Quicken.

That original install may or may not work.

I was able to install this version of Quicken and it is fully patched.

This looks like a patch install only problem. I tried installing the Quicken 2013 R12 Mondo patch and it failed for the same "not enough space" error.
