Mission Federal Credit Union- Duplicate transactions
Missions Federal now automatically downloads the last 6 months of Quicken transactions. You no longer have the option of entering a date range. The problem is that Quicken is duplicating the transaction- even though it's been cleared and sometimes even reconciled.
The way to fix it is to download an excel version, delete the duplicates from the register in Quicken and then re-download the transactions. It worked for a while and then I started getting duplicates again….This is not workable. Can Quicken tell us when this will be fixed? If I'm going to manually delete hundreds of transactions, I only want to do it once.

Hello @PJ116,
Thank you for sharing your experience.
What you are describing is not the expected behavior. I have some follow-up questions for you.
- How long has this issue been happening?
- How are you opening Quicken?
- Are you using the solid red icon on your desktop, or does it resemble a red piece of paper?
- Where is your data file located?
- Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Carbonite?
Additionally, please review this Support Article and apply the steps therein.
Let me know what you find.

I have an additional question for you, @PJ116
How are you downloading from the bank?
- you're downloading and importing a QFX file
- you're using One Step Update or "Update Now" from the account register
- you're using some other method. Please explain.0 -
Hello, I am downloading from my Bank's website using a QFX file. My bank just did a major revamp of their website over the summer and now when I download it will give me the last 6 months of transactions. Before, I could just enter a date range. The problem is that they are not matching transactions that have already been cleared and reconciled. I read the article that Alyssa posted above, and my bank is sending different download IDs.
Before I tried the fix suggested in the article, I cleared my browser cache and did a full back up of my data. I'm using Chrome…the latest version. I was able to "fix" one account and when I went to do the others, the website downloads the QFX file…Quicken "blinks" to let me know it sees it. But, the transactions do not appear in Downloaded Transaction register…there should be several. This problem started in October. When the website was changed, I went through and deleted the duplicates and was able to operate normally for a couple of months. Something changed in October and I'm stuck.

I'm downloading from all my banks using One Step Update. That means, I activated all my accounts for downloading from Edit Account Details / Online Services tab.
Running One Step Update, all my new transactions from all banks are downloaded in one process. I do not need to logon to each bank's website and laboriously create QFX files, one account at a time.
One Step Update processing is smart enough to only present new transactions.
Normally there are no duplicates being downloaded, except in the infrequent case where I need to deactivate/reactivate accounts. In that case, I need to expect a download containing about 60 days of recent transactions. All my accounts are configured to NOT automatically accept downloaded transactions. Instead, the downloaded transactions appear in the Downloaded Transactions tab at the bottom of the register. Here I can review, match, create new transactions, change categories and other details, and accept as needed.
Recommend you try the same.
A number of large banks have recently dropped support for QFX file downloads in lieu of One Step Update.0 -
Thank you UKR. But, my bank does not permit this method of downloading transactions. They used to…but, not anymore.

Sorry, but that does not compute.
According to the Fidir.txt file entry, both Express Web Connect (OSU) and Web Connect (QFX) are supported:
15403 15403 15403 Mission Federal Credit Union https://www.missionfed.com 1-800-500-6328 https://www.missionfed.com ACTIVE BANKING&WEB-CONNECT BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT NOT_QBP NA
If you were to try to activate your accounts for OSU (using Tools / Add Account), what kind of error message do you receive?
