Number of shares way off

Suddenly - I mean from this morning to this afternoon - the number of shares reported in investment accounts is nuts, random garbage. Showing -7 for example, but they are all way off. Share prices are correct. I have no idea what caused this. Quicken Mac. Been using this for years. All accounts are Detailed. Brokerage account is with Schwab.

    Thank you for sharing your experience.

    Given that this issue happened recently, restoring a backup might be the best option. Please follow these steps:

    1. Save a Backup. Steps can be found in this article if needed.

    2. Disconnect ALL Schwab accounts in Quicken. Here are the steps on how to do that.

    3. Revoke Quickens Third-Party Access from the Schwab website.

    4. Restore a backup from before the issue happened. Check out this Support Article on how to do this.

    5. Repeat step 2 now that we are in the backup file.

    5. Add accounts back into Quicken

    Once back in Quicken, you will want to make sure you choose the "LINK to existing" option for any of the accounts that were already in Quicken.

    Hi Alyssa,

    That worked, thank you. But do you have any insight into why this happened? The Schwab accounts use Quicken Connect, which I believe uses some kind of aggregator as an intermediary between my Quicken and Schwab. Since the my Schwab account is in order, it seems likely that culprit here is Quicken Connect. Does that make sense?
