Error when attempting to import banking transactions from .csv

Hi all,

I like to manually import all my banking transactions from CSV using the import banking transactions feature quicken provides. I have a template setup on my computer which I have been using for a while now with no issues. I tried to import a bunch of new transactions today and got hit with the "File selected did not have the required format".

After attempting to input a single transaction through csv and multiple heading adjustment attempts, I still have not been able to get it to import. As a last resort I tried downloading their example CSV and directly importing that without changing any data, and still got the same error.

Is this potentially an error on Quickens side or am I missing something simple? I'm currently on Quicken Classic Release R65.17 for Windows.

Thanks in advance.

I had not tried this before, but I had Q generate the sample banking transactions file which contained the following:

date, payee, fipayee-unused,amount,debit/credit,category, account, tag, memo, chknum
    02/15/2025,Dr. M Whitehill,,-150.00,,medical:pediatric,Checking,kids:Justin,annual checkup,101
    03/13/2025,John Smith paycheck,,1850.25,,salary,Checking
    04/11/2025,La Tour,,-225.00,,dining,Visa Rewards card

It imported without issue creating the two accounts that were cited in the import file.

I did this in R65.17, so you might try uninstalling and re-installing Q on your computer.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
