Fidelity HSA account no longer supported?
I know Quicken does not officially support HSA accounts (or is this changed?), but it worked for my Fidelity HSA account. UNTIL 10/16 ot 10/30: I'm not getting updates since then. I did several resets, but no change. They don't offer a QFX or QIF download, only a CSV. Updating the account manually didn't work because of the special structure of brokerage accounts. Please advise what to do?

Hello @pbmsmit,
Thank you for reporting this.
Quicken does support HSA accounts, but recently, how these are handled for Fidelity has changed. Basically, Fidelity HSA accounts will no longer have automatic downloads.
Please check out this Community Announcement for more information. The announcement also covers how to handle these going forward.
I hope this helps, and I apologize that I didn't have better news.

Sorry the reported link doesn't describe how to download transactions from Fidelity HSA, it only says 'update the cash balance manually', that is the least important thing, I need the transactions and only download is a .CSV. Is there a way to convert a .CSV into QFX? I really need Quicken to fix it asap or deliver a simple bypass.

I called Fidelity helpdesk, and the first thing they told me was to talk to you, Quicken, as they don't own Quicken. I told them they have several communications for downloading to Quicken so they know how to do it and fix the HSA issue. I'm an IT guy, and this looks to me a simple protocol issue because the exchange of data worked and suddenly stopped due to a (untested?) change. I also told them, that a bypass would be to create a downloadable QFX file like they do for all other account types. The only reaction was 'Thanks for the feedback'. Looks like there is no priority or will at Fidelity to fix it.
Bypass from Quicken: I don't know much about the QFX file protocol, but is there a way to 'catch and save' the intermediate/temporary QFX? file (I assume Quicken stores the temp files somewhere) and edit it so it works? I saw such a fix for another issue with Everbank, where a wrong code was used.

Hello @pbmsmit,
Thank you for following up. And thank you for reaching out to the financial institution and letting us know the outcome of that.
Quicken does not offer a file converter, and therefore, I cannot recommend one. However, you can import a CSV file into Quicken. Please check out this Help Article for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps!

I'm having this same issue with HSA downloads. This CSV option in Quicken is not worth it since you have to restructure the file so Quicken can accept it. Faster to manual entry if you have just a few transactions. I spoke to Fidelity today about it, and they said it is being worked on. This has been going on since October, so is anyone really working on it?

Just got out of a chat with Fidelity because the mixed messages on line have driven me to the brink. First they insisted that the problem was on Quicken's end. They pointed to a dated chat as evidence. Then they said that they were working on a problem with the H.S.A. accounts - that they were just informed of it and that my problem is an old problem and I need to work with Quicken. Then, when I pushed back, they offered to instruct me on how to create a test file to see if my Quicken file was corrupted. When I pointed out that my CMA downloads fine then they said it was probably the new problem. If you are having a problem with your H.S.A. account only then its the "new problem" and its on their end. If you are having a problem with multiple accounts then its an old problem and Quicken is working on it. They could not describe the new problem, tell me how it differs from the old problem tell me who was working on it or when it would be resolved. "There is no timeline for resolution". I pointed out that we all have a timeline if we have to make year end H.S.A transactions. I'm going to try posting on the Fidelity reddit page. I think we need to make some noise or this will not get resolved. I wish Vanguard would just offer an H.S.A. While I agree that Fidelity's on line reporting/trading functions are better than Vanguard, at least I never have a problem getting Vanguard transactions correctly downloaded.
