New Citi Card Authorized User Cards
Citi cards recently sent out new cards for authorized users. They have different credit card numbers from the original credit card. How should I set these up in Quicken Classic? Should I simply add the new cards as if they were totally new accounts? I don't want duplicate data to download into Quicken.

If you look at the transactions for the new card number is this just the same transactions, but with a different card number? (changing just the number is something they do all the time for fraud and I don't expect it to be different in this case).
If the only thing that really changed is the credit card number, then what I would do is go to the Account Details → Online Services tab and deactivate the account for downloading. Then select Ctrl+A to start the process of adding an account. On the Citi Card web site during the authorization make sure that you select the new account number and deselect the old one if it is a choice. Then after you finish authorizing it, back in Quicken the last step will allow you to link the existing account in Quicken to the new account online.
The only time I would create a new account in Quicken is if they really started you with a new credit card account that doesn't have the old transactions in it.

The original credit card number does not go away. It is still a valid credit card number.
If you sign on to the citi card website, you will see transactions the same transactions for both the original card and the new authorized user card. The original card is still a good credit card number. It does not go away but Citi now requires authorized users to have a different number.
My fear is that when I add this authorized user number to quicken is that the download will load both the old and new user transactions to quicken.
Has any other quicken classic users added this new authorized user credit card? What was the result of credit card downloads?

That is interesting that both have the same transactions. My wife has a Costco Citi Credit card, but we haven't got a new card yet. But given the situation you are describing I would still deactivate and switch to the other card.
