You have exceeded the Maximum number of datasets .... what now folks?????
OK guys and gals…. tech support was no help and really didn't even know what to do.
I create test files when trying to verify whether an issue is with trhe Financial Institution or with Quicken. This is the third time in about 10 years I get the message posted later here. Basically there is a limit of how many datasets we can create and when max is reached I cannot create any more data files. Twice before within the past 10 years I just called tech support and they reset, or whatever they did, so I could again create data files.
When I called tech support as indicated in the screenshots below I was told, after being on hold several times, that escalation said there was nothing that could be done. I know better. Having just recently renewed my subscription and being unable to create a new data file is not a good answer. That can't be so, it can be reset, or whatever they have done twice before. I am searching for help and answers.
If my live data file gets corupted tomorrow what is the solution if a new data file can't be created?????

Found this. It says to contact Quicken Support.
I noted that my subscription was recently renewed already and it has 447 days left till expiration on March 16, 2027

Contacted Quicken Tech Support again and reached a tech this time who said this could be fixed. Shared my screen and walked me thru deleting many closed test files which are listed in the cloud. I never use Mobile and Web and sync is always turned off but had to be turned on in order to fix this then turned back off. Maximum datasets is limited to 110 then you cannot create any data files untill some files listed in the cloud get deleted to reduce the number below 110. This issue has been seen and needed correcting 3 times in 10 years (lots of test files created by me over the years).
I asked the tech guy if I could remedy this myself in the future without needing to contact support and he said yes. He sent me a link of instructions to use in the future thus not needing to contact Quicken Tech Support.
I now can create data files and test files again…..
