Unauthorized Cloud Storage
Do all accounts get synced to the cloud without permission? I started getting Sync Errors on the server side and contacted customer support. In doing this, I inadvently signed into the web version and all of my accounts were there. I have never synced to the cloud or even turned the sync on. I quickly signed out and contacted customer support. I was instructed to turn Sync on and then off. While doing this, I got errors from transactions 6 years old. After I turned Sync off, I went back to the web version and my materials/data was gone. But I did notice that there was a listing of old Quicken accounts going back 10 plus years. I really do not like everything getting moved to the cloud without my permission. Maybe I am just naive.

There are two controls for what is stored in Quicken Cloud. In Settings > Mobile, Web & Alerts, you can turn Sync to Off. Then, you need to go to Settings > Connected Services, and click the Cloud Account > Reset button. This will delete the existing cloud dataset with the data which was synced from your desktop.
After doing this, there will still be a cloud account/dataset paired with your desktop file, but it will not contain any of your transactions, accounts credentials, etc.; it is used for certain services Quicken performs through its cloud servers, such as if you ever use the Help > Report a Problem feature. Every desktop file has an associated cloud file, but you don't need to be concerned about it containing your transaction data as long as Sync has been in the Off position since you reset the cloud file.
Then, you can click on the See All Cloud Accounts button to see a list of all the cloud accounts you have ever created. You may have created new ones if you restored from a backup, or created any test files, or if you moved your data file from one Mac to another. These are generally harmless, but you can go through and delete some or all of them if you wish — except the one in bold font, which is the one associated with your current data file.

Wow, that is a better answer than what I got from customer support. I was baffled by the fact that some of these accounts are over ten years old but if moving data from one machine to another can make these files, that is the answer.
What concerns me is that this issue appeared with out me turning the sync on. Something must have happened on the Quicken server side.
Thanks, Jacobs.
