How to schedule two dependent transaction on say, 2nd Wed, 2nd Thurs.

I have two transactions where the second transaction should always occur after the first. And the first transaction is scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday. For example, my SSA deposits are on the 2nd Wednesday. I would like a transfer from the checking to saving to always occur just after the SSA deposit, say Thursday.

The only solution I've come up with to make the savings transfer always occur just after the SSA deposit is to schedule it on the 3rd Wednesday and no sooner. Is there something I'm missing?

    I do this in one of data files and it works really well.:

    • Set up the 1st transaction (SSA deposit) for the 2nd Wed of each month.
    • Set up the 2nd transaction (transfer from checking to savings) for the 15th of each month. So it always occurs worst case 1 day after the latest 2nd Wed (the 14th) or as early as 7 days after the earliest 2nd Wed (the 8th). I also set this up as a recurring transfer at the bank so it happens automatically and I don't need to mess with it each month.

    Setting it up for the 3rd Wed of each month as you mentioned is a perfectly good option and should work well for you.

    Looks like my bank does not allow a setting of 3rd Weds of month, etc. So setting it to the 15th is the way I have to go.
