Downloaded transactions questions

I am using Quicken Classic for Windows and it is up to date. In the past, downloaded transactions have been entered as a single entry. If I had split the transaction into multiple categories, the latest downloaded transaction would still show up un-split. Recently, downloaded transactions are showing up as split transactions if I had split the most recent transaction. Did that change in a recent update? Is there a setting that will make downloaded transaction show up as a single rather than split entry? Or do I have to go through the memorized payee list and delete the split transactions?

There's no such thing as a downloaded "split transaction". Neither Q nor your financial institution would know how you wanted to split the transaction.

SO, have you checked your Memorized Payees list to see if the split transaction is there … and the download is just picking that up.

OR, you can input your transactions prior to the download, splitting them (or not) as you wish … and the downloaded transaction will match with what you input.

The downloaded transactions were showing up as split in the register (after I accepted them) the same way as I had split the previous download. I think you are right about it picking that up from the memorized payee list and it was duplicating the split categories exactly even though the amounts didn't match up. I have deleted all the split transactions from the memorized payee list to see if that solves the problem. I have been downloading transactions for years but this behavior is recent. I'll update this post in a few days after I have more transactions to download.
