Quicken does not seem to recognize qfx files from Barclays bank
I updated to quicken classic for mac Version 8.4.2 (Build 804.59835.100), I am using Mac OS 26.1.
I log in to Barclays and download a qfx file to import but trying to import the file, it is grayed out and cannot be imported, it was working fine prior to this most recent update, any ideas why?
Thanks

Quicken and its "integrator" Intuit has deprecated the use of QFX and QIF files, insisting that EWC+ format is more secure and is what it will use going forward (as of Nov 2025). Unfortunately the roll-out of this discontinuance of QFX formats was handled very poorly.
For my FI the only choice of a simple, secure download is now .CSV files, which Quicken will still import, but not without some sleuthing regarding the real vrs "exact" format of the CSV file. See the attached screen shot for tips on how to succeed at importing CSV files.

@DaveManz An OFX file and a QFX file are identical except for a single line of code in the QFX version what identifies the financial institution via an Intuit Bank Identifier (INTU.BID) number. OFX is no more secure than QFX, because it is the same exact file syntax.

Thanks, Jacob, for the correction concerning OFX. I edited my post to mention EWC+ instead.
