Budget not updating after reconciliation

Using Classic Deluxe (Windows). After bank download and reconciliation, when I go to review my budget, it does not reflect the reconciliation just done. If I close the program and reopen it, the changes ARE reflected. But I feel I should not have to do that. Why will program not be aware of reconciliation and update budget accordingly?

    Thank you for sharing your experience and reporting the issue you are seeing.

    I have some follow-up questions for you.

    • How long has this issue been happening?
      • If this just recently started happening, you could restore a backup from before the issue started.
    • Where is your data file located?
      • You can see this by going to File. The first file listed at the bottom is the file you are currently in, and the file path will be displayed. That's what we are looking for.
    • Is your file being backed up/synced with any third-party services like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Backblaze?

    One thing you can try is validating your data file.

    1. Save a backup.
    2. Go to File.
    3. Select Validate and Repair file… Validate and Repair 2.png
    4. Check the first box for Validate file.
    5. Click Ok.

    Once the validation has completed, it will produce a report of anything it has found/corrected. After this, see if the issue persists, and let me know if anything has changed.
