Investment Tracking - Month End Values Only

I would like to find a way to track the value of my five Fidelity accounts without having to download all the transactions. All I really want is the value of each account at the end of the month, not the value of all the funds in each account. I'm glad to do it manually, but I can't figure out how to set up each investment account in Quicken so I can enter a manual transaction at the end of the month to get each account to the current balance, such as I could with, for example, a savings account. Any ideas?

You may want to look into Simple tracking mode for the investment accounts. This does not download all the transactions, just your current positions and cash balance. In Simple mode the account will display a dashboard rather than the transaction detail.

If you want to enter the balances manually, you can create offline accounts and a fake security with a value of $1.00 per share to represent your holdings. To make your account balances match Fidelity, click on the gear at the top right of the account and select Update share balance. Set the share balance to match the account balance and you are done.

If you are making cash deposits and withdrawals, you may want to track the cash separately and adjust the cash balance to match the balance on your statement. In that case you would adjust the security balance to match the security balance at Fidelity, not the full account value.
