Recording shares in a new investment

I’ve got an unexpected problem with recording the purchase of some shares.

I’ve transferred proceeds from a sale of another investment to a new Brokerage account I created, Vanguard LifeStyle 80% Equity Fund - Accum. That worked just fine.

When I press New - create a transaction, at the bottom of the screen, and try to “Buy” the shares in the new account, the security doesn’t show up in the “Security” slot?

Any ideas, please, as to what I’m doing wrong?    Thanks, Quickswin

    Hi @QuickPeter,

Thank you for providing detailed information about the issue. I’d be happy to help you troubleshoot.

If the security exists in your Security List but is marked as hidden, it may not appear as an option when entering new transactions. Please check the following:

    1. Click Window in the top menu bar.
    2. Select Securities to open the Security List.
    3. If the security is not listed, you can add it by clicking the + (Plus) sign at the bottom left of the window.
    4. If the security is listed, make sure the Hidden checkbox is not selected.

After confirming this, please try entering the transaction again.

If the issue persists, feel free to let me know, and we can continue troubleshooting.

Laura, thanks for your message and for getting back to me so quickly.

Yes, that worked! I'm so relieved. I would have never have thought of that.

I'll remember that next time though!

It's not important at all, but for some reason I thought I'd changed my Username to Quickswin ?

    I don't have any idea when I did that …. 😗

I set my "Screen name" as it was called then, to QuickPeter on 13/06/16. Yes, ten years ago!

So that's what I should be using from now on right, QuickPeter as "user ID" aka "Nickname"?

    Thanks, Peter

btw I have to ask, as I'm just curious. As Quicken Laura, does that mean you work for Quicken or, are you one of the other very helpful people on this forum?
