NEW! 2/24/26 Bank of America Migration (multiple BIDS)

Will the ZZZ- be removed and corrected by Quicken once the BoA migration is complete? Should I wait (please state ETA) and follow your posted instruction below now?

Thank you !!

    Hi @galahad,

Thank you for sharing your concern with us.

Yes, to remove the old instance labeled “zzz,” you’ll need to disconnect the affected accounts and then reactivate them using the new Bank of America instance. Please be sure to create a backup before proceeding.

Here’s how to migrate to the new instance:

Step 1: Deactivate all affected accounts

    1. Go to Tools > Account List.
    2. In the Account List, select the account and click Edit.
    3. In the Account Details window, open the Online Services tab.
    4. Click Deactivate next to the online service.
    5. Confirm by clicking Yes.
    6. Repeat these steps for each affected account.
    7. Log in to your bank’s website and revoke Quicken’s third-party access (if applicable).

Step 2: Reactivate and link the accounts

    1. Go to Tools > Add Account.
    2. Search for and select Bank of America.
    3. If prompted, choose the appropriate connection method.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in.
    5. When the list of found accounts appears, make sure to select Link to connect them to your existing accounts (do not choose Add, as that would create duplicates).

Once completed, the old “zzz” instance should no longer be connected.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help!

Only 1 question " What is the FI on - Revoke Quicken’s third-party access from your account on the FI website?

    Hi @galahad,

It stands for Financial Institution: Log in to your bank’s website and revoke Quicken’s third-party access.

I'll be here to help if you have more questions.

After seeing zzz in my OSU summary, but before seeing this forum discussion, I de/reactivated my 3 B of A accounts. It worked fine without my having revoked access. I'm not sure there is a way to do this on the B of A site.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.

Now, I changed default browser from Edge to Chrome and it DID complete properly and the connection works

Older: I did the revoke access BUT all I get is

HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request

from BofA site so can't complete setup. I will try later

At 23:05 Wednesday I logged into my Quicken account Quicken and Bank of America had me update the linking process and reauthorize the connect. It must have worked since the zzz- are gone. Thank you - Laura for your efforts and time.

In my OSU this morning, I got a message that "Unknown - [long number]" FI is transitioning to a different connection method, and that I needed to update and reauthorize. BankofAmerica was not identified, but my BankofAmerica accounts were listed.

Is this reauthorization request legitimate, and does it have anything to do with the BankofAmerica migration topic? Please let me know before I link up to "Unknown" FI.

*UPDATE: I closed and ignored that odd to me "Unknown" message, and, from within the Quicken accounts, did a normal deactivate / reactivate / reauthorize to BankofAmerica … and all is working fine.

    Thank you

    Hi @Wil,

It’s likely the financial institution is now appearing as “Unknown” due to a change on the provider’s end (such as an instance update). In this case, please follow the steps outlined above to reauthorize the account and restore the connection.

If you have additional questions, please let me know!

I just tried to reauthorize my BoA credit card and it worked. In the past I received the HTTP 400 error. I didn't have any work arounds or tricky steps….I just followed the straightforward add an account steps.

Quicken Laura I don't know if this helps but I had installed a windows or Edge update prior to successful reauthorization
