Fidelity Cash Management Account Continued Issues, Continued

Last December, I posted this:

I am having issues with a Fidelity Cash Management account with pseudo-checking account set to Yes.

The investment account has no securities in it, just a cash balance. In the past, this cash was always shown as zero in the investment account and shown in the checking account. Since the update, the cash is going into the investment account, and when I try to set it to zero, Quicken complains: Can't adjust cash because it's always zero—but it's not.

Meanwhile, the checking half seems to be showing transactions from the associated debit card, but when I do an update, it adds a transaction to the checking account, back to the same account, to set the balance to zero.

Is this another case of a problem that takes Quicken a year to fix??

No action since, and the topic was closed. It hasn't been a year yet, but I think that's still gonna be the winning pool entry.

Dahell am I paying for?? Does support exist?

    Hi @Jeepien,

Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with this issue for so long.

To better understand what’s happening, could you please help with the following questions?

    • When did the issue first start?
    • Do you see any placeholders in the brokerage account?
    • Is this affecting only your Fidelity account(s), or are other investment accounts impacted as well?
    • Is Quicken showing your cash as a security in Holdings, or as a cash balance?
    • In your global settings, is “Never interpret downloaded Money Market funds as cash” selected?

    Steps to check Holdings:

    • Open the investment account in question
    • Click Holdings in the upper-left area of the account

    Steps to check global settings:

    • edit-preferences.png Go to Edit > Preferences
    • Select Downloaded Transactions
    • Make sure “Never interpret downloaded Money Market funds as cash” is not checked
    • Click OK Never interpret downloaded MM funds as cash> unchecked .png

Your answers will help clarify the behavior and guide the next steps. I look forward to your response.
