Add ability to search for and remove characters [Edited]

Every Square transaction adds SQ to the beginning. I'd like to be able to search for "SQ " and replace it with nothing. My only option is to replace all with a whole different payee, but they are all different. I just want to remove SQ. There are other similar things I'd like to be able to search/replace.

    How many different merchants do you go to who use Square?
    As a quick workaround, you could set up and use

    • a Renaming Rule to change, e.g,, "SQ Joes BBQ" to "Joes BBQ"
    • a Memorized Payee List entry "Joes BBQ" with the correct category and a non-zero amount. "Lock" this entry to prevent it from accidental change. If your MPL has more than "Joes BBQ" entry, delete all others except the one you just created
    • repeat this process for all other "SQ …" merchants you go to frequently.

    Make sure Preferences settings are set to NOT automatically add downloads as new register transactions. Also enable both "Automatically create rules when I rename payees" and "Let me review/confirm automatically created rules" in Preferences / Downloaded Transactions.
    This allows you make Quicken help you create Renaming Rules and MPL entries for newly arriving SQ transactions.
