Is the FIDIR.TXT lines for my Financial Institution incorrect?
I have banking (checking, savings) and credit card accounts with Mid-Atlantic Feneral Credit Union (MAFCU). I can activate one step update for the checking and savings accounts but not for the creidt card account.
There are three lines in fidir.txt for
- 20715 20715 20715 Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU https://vfccu.org/ 1-800-622-7494 https://vfccu.okta.com/oauth2/default/v1/authorize?client_id=0oa16twvnn0iXg67g358&code_challenge=8bIdFXlNGZL-JekzBoXcsE4C9NaN-a6ebJa25tqrQRU&code_challenge_method=S256&nonce=oQNUpCx8WC2gUApR8Y02DBvrNwYfNuekXKXYB5DEf9WH4yidoOzel1UMRjXDw0Dt&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fprod.zephyraccess.org%2Fauth%2Fcallback&response_type=code&state=aiWGio6RqFvlFZwb7HWJLADkUbSi2fxhZXYlzUiGczxQ7A5K0k56luL1BSZZsE5v&scope=openid%20profile%20email%20offline_access ACTIVE

I have not tried activating through all three. The first one does not recognize my creditials. That doesn't surprise me since I am not a corporate client. The other two do recognize my credentials but both find only my checking and savings accounts. Neither finds the credit card account.
As an experiment I tried accessing https://onlinebanking.mafcu.org/mafcuonline_41/uux.aspx#/login and got page not found. When I tried https://onlinebanking.mafcu.org/mafcuonline/uux.aspx#/login I got to the MAFCU login page. The one that gets page not found is from the "Mid-Atlantic FCU Credit Card". Is it possible that the web address that gets page not found is incorrect and needs to be fixed so that the connection can be made to something that will find my VISA account?
Thanks

The OSU connection URLs aren't necessarily the same ones that users use to connect to their website, so there is no way to know if they are correct or not.
I'd download a Web Connect .QFX file from their website. Import it into Quicken and when prompted, link it to the existing account or add it if it doesn't already exist. That will inform Quicken which is the correct FITID entry.
Then, you can edit the account from the Tools→Account List, on the Online Services tab and activate OSU.
-splasher using Q continuously since 1996

See this, which you have commented on:
There is no QFX file for the VISA account. As noted in that thread, I have cobbled together my own QFX file and, when I import it, been prompted to try to connect which fails in that it does not find my VISA account. So the two threads are very related. If I had my choice, I'd rather get OSU working than use CSV files or OFX files or cobbled together QFX files to update transactions. But I want to look at this issue from as many angles as I can. Here I am trying to figure out why I can't connect.
I know I don't know what the URLs in the fidir file entries are used for but I would assume they are there for a purpose. One of the URLs in the "Credit Card" entry is broken (if I use it in my browser it gets page not found from the browser) and I can't activate OSU for my credit card. Is that a coincidence? Does it mean anything? Only someone who knows Quicken design/code would know.
However, your repsonse does give me another idea. My cobbled together QFX file had the FI info from the credit card entry. I'll try again using the "Credit Un" data and see what happens.
I have been in touch with MAFCU reps and I am getting vibes that their IT department may need some help. I have suggested they contact Quicken. Maybe that'll help.
Still working on constructing instuctions for creating QFX file from CSV/OFX to post in the other thread.
Thanks

I tried substituting the FI information of the "Credit Card" for the information for the "Credit Un". This is what I got when I tried to import it:
I then tried with the "Credit Card" info and it worked.
I tried with various flavors of "Credit Un" information:
- with information that I thought it should be from looking at fidir entry
- with the information from a QFX download of checking account. It was different from the one I generated from looking at the fidir entry in that
- the <FID> was not the same as the <INTU.BID>. The <FID> in the downloaded checking account QFX was not anything in the fidir entry.
- <ORG> was not an exact match of the text string in the fidir entry
I then successfully imported the downloaded checking account QFX file.
The checking account is activated through "Credit Card" but it will accept a download that seems to be from "Credit Un". I can't activate the credit card and it will accept downloads from "Credit Card" but not "Credit Un".
What does this all mean?
Thanks
Jim
