2026 Reports Not Working [Edited]
I would pm @Quicken Laura about this, but don't have enough points to pm. She was very helpful with another problem, and I hope can address/solve this issue.
I have reported this issue back in 2023 and 2025. It still persists. This post is just additional info about the symptoms. When I change parameters of a 2025 report and then save it as a 2026 report in a 2026 folder in My Saved Reports, I cannot open the report from the reports menu. Doing so opens the wrong report. I have discovered that it is opening a report from Reports and Graphs Center under the My Saved Reports section, but it opens a report that is not filed in a folder. I still haven't figured out the logic (if there is any) of how it chooses the incorrect report to open.
As before, I can still open the correct report if I open the Reports and Graphs Center, select the 2026 folder, and then select the report I want. That works… it just doesn't work from the main menu "Reports".
I don't know if the following is helpful in analyzing the problem, but the reports in 2023 and 2025 that did not work from the Reports menu, are now working.

Reusing Saved Reports created in older releases of Quicken sometimes doesn't work, due to apparent incompatibilities in the format of the old saved report vs the changes made by the programmers.
It's best to create a new report from scratch (from the Reports Menu or the Reports & Graphs Center), customize it to your needs and, once it works correctly, save it for next time.

Been there… done that. No joy. Using the top level "Reports" function and selecting the new report from the 2026 folder just opens an old, unrelated report from My Saved Reports that is not in a folder. I can open the new report by going to Reports and Graphs Center, selecting the 2026 folder, then selecting the new report.

Reopening an old, saved report which doesn't work, is always going to give you bad results.
You need to start over with an appropriate Transaction Report or Categories Report from the menu, redo the customization and you should get correct results. Once you do, save the report again, replacing the bad saved copy.

Apparently I didn't make myself clear. I did create a new report from scratch. I saved it in the 2026 folder. When I try to open it from the Reports menu, I get a different report that is saved in My Reports but not saved in a folder. If I go to Reports and Graphs Center, select the 2026 folder, then select the new report, it opens the correct report. There is obviously a problem with the Reports menu function.

If you haven't done so already, please do the following actions:
• Even if you are on the latest software level already, download and install the latest Manual Patch file from to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed.
• Reboot Windows. Let Windows fully wake up and do whatever it wants to do after booting up … 15 minutes or so.
• Start Quicken. Do not run One Step Update.
• Run BOTH Validate and Supervalidate to attempt to repair your Quicken data file.
• If nothing helps, try to restore your Quicken data file from an Automatic or Manual backup taken just prior to the problems first occurring.Validate and Supervalidate instructions
First save a backup file prior to performing these steps
Validate:
• Click File
• Select Validate and Repair File...
• Select Validate File
• If the data file contains investment accounts also select "Rebuild investing lots".
• If you suspect that a damaged Quotes Price History causes your problems, also select "Correct investing price history" functions "Delete" or "Repair and Rebuild".
• Click OK
• Review the Data Log. Anything interesting in there, worthwhile posting here?
• Close Quicken, leave it closed for about 30 secs
• Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.Super Validate:
• Click File
• Press and hold both CTRL and Shift keys while you click Validate and Repair File...
• Select Supervalidate File
• Click OK
• Review the Data Log. Anything interesting in there, worthwhile posting here?
• Close Quicken, leave it closed for about 30 secs
• Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.0 -
"try to restore your Quicken data file from an Automatic or Manual backup taken just prior to the problems first occurring"
The problem started in 2023. It's not feasible to recreate two and a half years of data since then. The previous years of reports that had this problem now work fine, so I doubt there's a problem with the file. If no one else has a solution, I'll just live with opening 2026 reports from the Reports and Graphs Center. Next year, I'm sure the 2026 reports will work.

A couple of ideas…
I wonder if this is one of the odd issues caused by a longer file name with spaces or other special characters. You might try changing the file name to an 8.3 format, like deriters.qdf. Especially troublesome is a trailing space in the file name, like:deriters .qdf.
What happens if you make your 2027 folder now and save any random report in that folder? Do the 2026 reports then open correctly?Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.
