I want to be able to copy and paste transaction (NOT "Move" since that transfers the transaction) from one account to another and "copy" / "paste" is of course grey'd out / not supported.
Thanks,
I'm guessing you're wanting to copy a transaction from one account to a different account? When I need to do this, I duplicate the transaction in the source register (menu Transactions > Duplicate, Cmd-D) and then drag the duplicate transaction to the destination account in the sidebar.
@RickO yep, that certainly works and thank you. It would be nice if Quicken would simply implement features such that irrespective of the OS on which the app is running, the products worked the same. In this day and age, and considering how long now the MAC version has been around, why it would still not do what the Windows version does is inexplicable.

The reality is that the Quicken Mac development team is quite small, and the list of feature requests we users have for them is quite large. Of the many hundreds of requested features, they can typically address only a few in each bimonthly new release. So the developers typically focus on what they perceive to be (a) things which currently can't be done at all in Quicken Mac, and (b) things which cause users major pain/inconvenience the way the program currently works. On the other hand, things which have an easy workaround or alternate way of being accomplished are rarely the things they invest time in implementing. Their focus is not on trying to copy/mimic every small detail of how Quicken Windows works.
So in this case, instead of the three-steps of Copy transaction, switch accounts, Paste transaction, you're doing two steps of Duplicate transaction and Drag-and-drop transaction. It's not a difficult or time consuming alternative, and that's likely why they have never put time into coding it.
