Copy/Paste Within an Investment Account—
I wanted to comment in the community discussion, but the topic was closed, so I am writing here. I too am wondering why Quicken won't allow copy/paste in 401k and IRA accounts for certain transactions. Support did not even seem to know a workaround existed, as they just kept telling me to enter transactions manually as that these accounts were set up not to allow copy & paste, but they couldn’t give me a good reason why. I only learned about the workaround after asking to speak with a supervisor who ultimately sent me a link to what Quicken Kristina shared with you on October 7, 2024. I am glad to have it, but it boggles my mind that they cannot or will not enable the "Paste Transaction" function in the register instead of it showing up greyed out and disabled. I have already manually entered all the RMD transactions for the year, so I didn't get a chance to try the workaround yet but am hoping it will come in handy down the road.
