Regarding the Bank of America NOT being able to UPDATE transactions as most of other banks, I spent 2 hours at least on the phone with a BofA Agent. We SOLVED the REASON but not the problem of the downloading. Bank of America has GRANDFATHERED in clients who in the past signed up to "DIRECT CONNECT" which was a BofA Program. BofA has DISCONTINUED this program for new clients and those who chose not to sign up when it was active.
If you look at the message received when failing the attempt to UPDATE, it reads something like: a DIRECT CONNECTION is needed to perform this operation. You will need to contact Bank of America.......
This is not a quicken problem, but a BofA discontinued program. You will have to go to your online banking site and pull up your activity and choose DOWNLOAD to retrieve your transactions. BUT it will not be supported if you have 2017 Quicken version or older. Only 2018 and Newer are supported.
At least it is better than entering everything manually!!!
