What type of file are you downloading from your financial institution? QFX? What happens when you try to import the file? Do you get an error?

Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

What are you using as the name of your financial institution?  Because I can find NO "Ally Financial" in the list of participating banks/cards/brokerages.

    02780    02780    02780    Ally Credit Card    https://www.ally.ccservicing.com/CCServicing/Login.do?promoCode=ALLY    1-888-961-2559    https://www.ally.ccservicing.com/CCServicing/EnrollStep1.do    ACTIVE         CREDIT&WEB-CONNECT         CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT    NOT_QBP    NA

    06157    06157    06157    AllyBank    http://www.ally.com    1-877-247-ALLY    http://www.ally.com    ACTIVE         BANKING&WEB-CONNECT         BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT    NOT_QBP    NA

And, the ones that I did find that resemble that name don't seem to include Investments.  For example, here's the info for Fidelity Investments:

    07776    07776    07776    Fidelity Investments    http://www.Fidelity.com    (800) 544-7931    http://personal.fidelity.com/misc/partners/quicken/disclaimer.shtml    ACTIVE    ACCOUNTINFO,INVESTMENT&DIRECT

Upon further investigation, Ally Bank themselves have answered the question:
