How can I produce a report of unrealized gain/loss by security for 1 month?

Reporting unrealized gains by security for all securities for a period (e.g., 1 month) shorter than the holding period of the securities.

Reports > Investing > Investing Income (Including unrealized gain) for the selected period.

Click through the "UnrlzdGain" figure then subtotal by security.

It's not a neat report that has a single line for each security, but it does give you the information you asked for. You could then export the report to Excel and delete all the detail, keeping only the totals.
