How to produce a line chart of spending over past 24 months?
dfatq
Hi,
I want to create a line chart of spending of certain accounts over past 24 months on a monthly basis. How do I do that? It seems to only do a circular type chart which is worthless for what I want to know.
TIA!!

If you haven’t already, you may want to consider using a customized
Income and Expense by Category
report: select
Reports > Spending > Income and Expense by Category
and press
Alt + C
, select
Custom Dates
in the
Date range:
pull-down, reset the
From:
date, select the
Accounts
tab,
Clear All
, check the desired accounts, and select
OK
.

It will be a bar chart, not a line chart.
@Sherlock
's report will give you side by side bars with income and expense. If you just want to see spending, try starting with the Spending by Category report. Select the desired date range and set the Column to the interval you want.
If you must have a line chart, you will have to export the report data to Excel and plot it there.
