How do I combine my old Moneydance accounts and my new Quicken accounts into one?

I used Moneydance for years and purchased Quicken for Mac. I exported my Moneydance data into QIF and loaded them into Quicken. I set up my bank accounts through Quicken and downloaded the transactions. I know have 2 separate accounts (old Moneydance and new Quicken) for the same account. How do I merge the two into one? Thanks

For Banking accounts (not Investment accounts), you can simply drag-and-drop transactions between accounts. So open one of your Moneydance accounts, click on the first transaction in the register, scroll to the last transaction in the register and Shift-click on it -- which will select all transactions in the account. Now click and drag on a transaction to the Quicken account you want these transactions to belong to, and all the transactions will move from one account to the other. You may need to delete or adjust the account opening balance to get your account back into having the proper balance. Repeat for any other accounts you have in duplicate. After all your transactions are moved, simply delete the old Moneydance accounts.
Wait.... before starting, make sure you make a backup of your file! If anything goes wrong, you need a backup so you can revert and try again.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19935
