Year end register report, summary of each account by category? (Q Mac)
Ellen732
My old version of quicken had a great drop down to run this report and now I can't get the report for each account alone, it wants to add all of them. I want the payee to show but the grouping by category. Is it still possible?

I'm not clear about the exact report you want. You say register report, which typically means the detail transactions, but you also say summary which is typically only the total for each category.
Quicken Mac is currently in transition from some old reports that were inherited from the program's predecessor and a new report engine that is significantly superior but is still being build out. All this power currently lies under the simple-sounding "New Report" item on the Reports menu. You can select either a transaction report or a summary report, with rows=category, and then click Customize to set the date range to This Year or Last Year or whatever you want. Also on the Customize pane, you can click on Accounts to set the report to be for one specific account. You'll need to create a different report for each Account.

thank you jacobs, although not as nice and neat as in windows, the transaction report was the one I was looking for - appreciate the help!
