How to merge or combine two investment accounts

I have 2 brokerage investment accounts that are now the same account. Can I merge the two?

    Easiest way would be to use the Shares transferred between accounts action to move the securities from one account to the other. This will mimic what probably happened in real life and will remove the shares from one account and add them to the other, preserving the cost basis.

    If you are downloading transactions do not accept any transactions from the FI(s), associated with the move, because they are often incorrect.

    Be sure to back up your data file first, in case something goes wrong or you do not like the result.
