:# Today I had an auto update done to my Windows Quicken Version :# . I have 4 investing accounts. One of the investing accounts, Call it Account A, contains not only its holdings but added to it by the auto update are the holdings of another of my investing accounts Call it Account B. However the total amount in Account A is the holdings belonging to A plus only few hundred dollars of the Account B holdings. Account B still contains all of its correct holdings. Accounts C and D are not effected. None of my Banking Accounts or Property/Debt Accounts are effected. What the hell happened and how is quicken going to fix my issue?

I suggest you restore a datafile backup saved before the issue appeared. If the issue persists, I suspect you may have inappropriate placeholder transactions in Account A. If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7267839/quicken-faq-managing-placeholder-entries-in-quicken-for-windows
To prevent the Quicken program from updating itself without your approval, I suggest you set Windows UAC settings appropriately.5
