Importing qfx or qif files into existing accounts

I'm new to Quicken. Using the new subscription model for Mac. Connected to my bank, and it brought in everything fine — for the last month's worth or data or so. Now I want to add in everything from the start of the year. When I export monthly qfx or qif files from my bank — they allow only 45 days per download — each comes into Quicken as an entirely new account. How can I make them come into my existing accounts?

After your import, open the just-imported account by clicking on it in the left sidebar. Now select all the transactions in the register (click on the first transaction, scroll to the bottom, and Shift-click on the bottom one), and drag the transactions to the older existing account in the left sidebar. This will move all the transactions fun the new account to the older account. Once you're sure you go all the transactions moved, you can delete the empty account by Control-clicking on it in the left sidebar and selecting Delete from the pop-up menu.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19935
