How does value data get put into the Invest subcategories such as _401KWithdrawal

I do not understand how to record a non taxable 401k distribution so that it both gets into the checking account & also updates the Category of income I want to track (_401Kwithdrawal). Same issue with taxable IRA distributions

Generally the categories that begin with underscores are assigned automatically by Quicken and you should not be using them directly.

I actually use _IntInc on a monthly basis in a number of accounts. I treat the underscore category like any other. Some of the transaction entry blocks (like investments) automatically default to it. I have used other underscore categories in the past without a problem.Quicken user since 1994.
