What are you referring to by "the investments window"? If you're referring to what you see when you click on the "Investments" tab and select "Portfolio", if you "Group by" Accounts then you'll simply see the two Accounts - Fidelity and Schwab - each with a list of securities held in each Account. If you "Group by" Security Type then you'll see groups of securities listed out under the various "Security Types", like Mutual Funds, Bonds, Stocks, and so forthIf you happen to have only mutual funds in Fidelity and only stocks in Schwab then all the Fidelity securities will be grouped as Mutual Funds and all the Schwab securities will be grouped as Stocks. That's not really identifying one Account as "Mutual Funds" and the other Account as "Stocks".7
