How can I get the average monthly balance of my checking accounts?

I think you'd need to export to a spreadsheet program to do that; it's notnbing you can find in Quicken Mac.
For instance, if you set your register to show the past 12 months, or last year or whatever time range, and exported it to a CSV file, and opened it in Excel or Numbers, you could then create quick formula to average all the values in the balance column.
Well, that's not precise, because it uses the balance after every transaction. So a day with five transactions would count more heavily in the average calculation than a day with two transactions. But it would give you a reasonable idea of your average balance.
You'd have to get a lot craftier with spreadsheet formulas if you wanted to find the ending balance each day and take the average of those days… and craftier still to build in days with no transactions to get your precise average daily balance. So depending what you want this for, and whether a rough idea or an exact number is the goal, this could either be a very easy thing to do in a minute or something quite a bit more complex.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19936
