I don't know what type of security this is and I need a symbel to pull pricing from NYSE.

It is a preferred stock.
If you know the CUSIP, Google says you should be able to look up the ticker here
https://www.wellsfargo.com/about/investor-relations/preferred-stock/
In Quicken it should be WFC-T or WFC-V, these are the two issues that have a 6% coupon.
