Accountant doing personal finances for client - new to quicken

Hi all, I'm an accountant who has started a business managing peoples finances. My very first client uses Quicken. It has been about 20 years since I used Quicken. Question 1: It appears that Quicken is only desktop transactionally, so I think that I have to get a file from them with all of their information and upload it into my desktop. Then send a file back to them to upload to their desktop version of quicken? Is that the only way for us to see the same thing? Question 2: Can I only use my download of Quicken for one client. If I have a second client that uses Quicken, can I have a separate instance?

You can do it all with just one install of the program, BUT, every file has to be associated with a Quicken Id (QID).Your Quicken installation will have your Quicken Id, their file will have their Quicken Id, so moving the data file back and forth will require changing which QID is in the file to work with it and then they will need change it back.I'm not sure what is going to happen if you have Home & Business and they have Starter, returning the file to them may have issues.
-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
- Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11
