How do I remove hidden and closed accounts from drop down lists?

I have tried to use the manage hidden accounts in the Tools Menu. The accounts I do not want to see are hidden and closed accounts.  Using the boxes in the Manage Hidden Accounts tool the category "Hide in Transaction Entry Lists"  are only "faintly" checked for each of the closed accounts; the other boxes in the other categories "Hide in Account Bar & Account List" and  "Keep This Account Separate" are  boldly checked. How do I fix this or do I need to  HELP Please

We can not remove hidden accounts from all drop down menus.  I suggest renaming these closed accounts so that they'll sort to the bottom of the lists and be easily recognizable as closed.  For example, prefix their names with: ZZZ
