always back up file - no longer works

I've always backed up a copy of my file to an external drive and now I can't back up to any drive!
I copy the quicken file to an external drive as a temporary solution - but this is terribly disappointing!
what gives?
I do NOT want to rely on the cloud as internet is not 100% reliable.

If you are not able to backup the data file to a folder on an internal drive, I suggest you review: https://www.quicken.com/support/advanced-data-file-troubleshooting-correct-problems-quicken-windows

to further clarify - I backup the file and then get a message that the file was NOT backed up.

Thank you - that worked. It is odd that things have been fine for months since upgrading - there were a couple of odd categories that I don't think were used according to the log.
now I need to rename my file.
