No free upgrade.  But, why do you want to upgrade to QW2017 in the first place?
If for the ability to download ... that's going to end for Q2017 on 4/30/2020.

    Hi @bchandler6 ,

There has never been a Free Upgrade to Quicken 2017 to 2016, unless you purchased Quicken 2016 within 30 days of Quicken 2017 being released.

Why not purchase Quicken 2020 during Black Friday? Or on Cyber Monday?

There's no such thing as a monthly fee from Quicken/Intuit ... unless you purchase one of the entirely optional add-on services.
You bank(s) might charge a monthly fee for downloading via Direct Connect ... but that's a bank-imposed fee ... not a Quicken fee.  And, downloading via DC is, again, optional.
SO, why do you believe that there's a monthly fee for Quicken 2020?

    Hi @bchandler6 ,

There is no Monthly fee for Quicken Subscription Products, just a Yearly Membership Fee.

Quicken 2016, 2017 and Subscription programs, use the same Data File.

    Hi @bchandler6 ,

It depends where you purchase it from. Amazon sells it for 1 Year plus two Months Free.
Quicken has a One Year or 2 Year Price, where you can save 40% off a 2 Year Membership, which is only good for First Time Buyers of the Subscription Product.

Current Subscribers can't save 40% unless their Membership expires for 1 complete day.

Current Subscribers can buy from Retailers, like Amazon, Staples and others.
The Product key is only good for 6 months from date downloaded or printed.

I'm guessing this is a typo, should be, it is expired for over 30 days.
