Why is the total in Quicken not close to the total at UBS.

There is an $11000 difference between what Quicken shows and what UBS shows. I suspect that they only update prices once a day and never on weekends.

I assume you're talking about some sort of Investment Account here, based on your comment about updating prices. The first thing to do is to simply compare the Holdings per Quicken vs. UBS. Same number of shares in both? Same market price in both?
It's not uncommon, in my experience, to get a bad quote price downloaded once in a while and I've usually found a difference between Quicken and a financial institution to boil down to that.
On rarer occasions I've found that one transaction will either get pulled forward or backwards in time causing a difference in number of shares held for that one day.
